Pretty good art, good music, cool game!, may look too grey/empty tho, add some color, add sum more effects

Developer

Thanks for the review!! I agree that it looks really grey and empty but I guess it kinda symbolizes the main character losing all it's memories and being empty. Maybe as it regains it's memories later on more color could be added.

Good Game

Really cool game. The artwork and world building are phenomenal. At first, I was a bit frustrated with not being able to do much else other than move left and right but once the other abilities become unlocked the game opens up a lot. Nice work!

Developer

Thanks a lot for trying out the game and commenting :)

Really cool little metroidvania. It took me 3 browser switches to realize jumping is actually progression locked, and not bugged out :P. Audio levels need some love, as someone already mentioned.

I thought the little UI switch on computer terminals was a cute touch.

Developer

Yep I should've put that in a tutorial but I ran out of time. But thanks for trying out the game though, hope you had fun!

Great artwork and music! Cool game idea progressing and reclaiming your abilities! I really liked the vibe the game gave off, but the second section was a bit frustrating to me without having dash right away! I also found a few bugs regarding the elevator, if you want to see them I can send them to you via Discord.  Great game over all! Wish you the best!

Developer(+1)

Thanks for playing! Sure you can dm me on discord about the elevator bug, my username is @swas.py.

My best score: 2172

Gameplay: 4

Sadly i dont have the time to finish it but its a pretty solid platformer with ok mechanics, it just feels that i die every time when i dont know what something does or where stuff is, for example i wasnt expecting that one particular robot at the start of level 2 move at mach 10, after i figured that out the next time i just fell straight into the next electric beam:(

Theme: 5

I guess you are escaping from a lab, the gameplay mechanic of having to recollect your skills kinda reflects that along with the story.

Aesthetics: 4

Its very well done, maybe there could be a bit more variety in the tiles. I like how the background behaves when moving

Sound: 4

Some music and sound effect for dying, not bad not good. Voice acting was good even though its still pretty obviously ai.

Overall a very nice submission, keep up the good work!

Developer

Thanks for the detailed feedback, really appreciate it! We could only manage to make 3 levels so we didn't put checkpoints and had to make the levels harder such that they could only be passed after a few tries. But once again thanks for playing!

the artwork looks great, nice animations and great music. very fun gameplay!

Really cool idea. Art is cool - also was going to ask about the voice - that's really good for AI ( sorry voice actors).  A bit of set up like that really helps you get invested in the game. nice one.

Developer

I know right, the first time I heard an Eleven labs voice I couldn't believe it myself but still voice actors are way better (for now). I wanted to add more dialogue to tell the story in a better way but ran out of time and just managed to make one in the last hour 💀. Thanks for the review though!

This is a really really cool game.  That art is insane.  Is that your voice for the intro?  I do need check points.  I NEED THEM lol But very very cool game (I'm a huge fan of Metroid type of games)

Developer(+1)

Thanks for the feedback! I wish that were my voice :P it's actually AI generated by Eleven Labs. About the checkpoints, I managed to make only 3 levels so I removed checkpoints otherwise it'd be over in 5 minutes. Thanks once again!

My ears hurt so bad from that initial sound effect blast, owie! Nice idea. Don't think the controls work as intended. Overall, well done! Could have used some more testing before launch; we've all been there.

Developer

Ah I didn't manage to check the audio levels did I, oops 💀. The controls work as intended, you unlock each ability as you progress through the levels, I was going to put it in a tutorial but I ran out of time :( But thanks for the review though!

Greqt job! Could figure out the buttons of the third level or how to get pas those robots, but it just made me want to try again to find a solution!

Very cool!

Metroidvania style game, with simple gameplay but with a very nice feel and mechanics.

Good job!

great sound. Refreshingly hand crafted path finder. I would have really appreciated checkpoints, I got some distance into it but died and didn't want to work through the now trivial solution of the first part of the game.
I want to experience more of the game so that's a great sign!

Developer (1 edit) (+1)

Yeah I planned to have checkpoints as I was planning to make at least 7 levels but I ran out of time and only made 3, so I remove checkpoints otherwise it'd be too easy.

Solid entry!

Gameplay wise, I think it would've been a good choice to either give the player a bit more field of view, or make the robots a bit slower. It currently feels too punishing when the player doesn't have all of their abilities, I think it should be the other way around. There's not much you can do if you took the wrong route and a robot spotted you.
Loved the touch that computers have a toggle switch for your abilities lol!

I hope you continue to expand on this! Keep up the good work!

Developer(+1)

Thanks for the feedback! I appreciate your point about the player FOV—it's something I overlooked during development. I'll definitely consider adjusting it to make the game more enjoyable. And I'm glad you enjoyed the toggle switch for abilities! Thanks again!

Your game seems completed and fits the theme. Graphics and sounds are well going with the game. Bravo!
