It's a good baseline platformer. Camera is a bit jumpy on jumps.

i like the characters design (and the rest of the pixel-art). Also the parallax scrolling of the background looks nice.
The problems of the inconsistent jumps looks like some kind of delta-timing related, maybe?

I don't know if I'm missing something, but the controls for me weren't working that good. Specifically being the jump, which is very inconsistent. Other than that, it's an alright game.
The jump is very strange and was the most difficult mechanic to implement, like what you say, the jump was very inconsistent and make me a lot of times trying to update and fix it
Are you saying the jump is like that intentionally, or that the jumping itself was hard to implement, making it bug ridden?
