We all managed to submit over 500 games. That's an incredible number to see pop up within a span of a weekend. For many of us, me included, this was the first such event and it feels incredible to be part of it.

Now, the question is: from the perspective of already having your submitted project, how do you feel about the game? How much did it change from the original concept to the submitted release? Did you have to downscale it along the way, did you get carried away, or did you plan everything just right?

In my specific case the theme hit really close to home, so I was actually for the longest time considering just working on the game outside of the jam and just put a release up when I have a polished, more feature-rich product, but in the end decided to actually submit a prototype to the jam anyway. It's far from perfect because of that, it's a game with a lot of different factors, so a lot of stuff needs to be adjusted, but working on it was a cathartic experience in its own way, so I have no regrets. Even though the different factors ended up taking so long to tune properly that I ran out of time to do proper visuals and audio 🤣

What about you? How did your game turn out vs what you were expecting?

Thank you for your review ;) Admittedly, the pause menu is the last thing I added and I didn't test it all that extensively. I'll limit the maximum number of popups to one at a time. Thanks a lot!

I definitely feel proud, but also unfulfilled at the same time. I know I could've done much, much better.

Mine is similar to yours in that it relies on fulfilling individual needs that are intertwined together in some ways. Yours definitely goes for the more dynamic approach and in my opinion does better what it set out to do. I guess I could've spent more time tweaking and balancing each need, but I'm still really happy with the result overall ;D

I love the concept and execution here! It seems like we went for a very similar approach to the theme and went with interconnected needs that you have to keep fulfilled. Your approach to it was way more dynamic, though and I love that. You can technically set your own difficulty level to an extent, but there's a motivator to drive you to try and aim for a better result. Love the how to play tutorial as well. Simple, to the point and explains every aspect of the game clearly. Overall lovely project ;) Amazing job!

My game never made it to the popular submissions section, but loooking at all the CTR posted here, I guess it's not that bad overall maybe? 0.93% for me.

This is my submission: https://itch.io/jam/extra-credits-game-jam-6/rate/739374

I don't think it ever made the popular page, but it certainly isn't popular right now :
