Night Drive is a short contemplative piece of interative poetry I made over about a month. I'd love if anyone checked it out!

Available Here

Assuming you're on windows, if you open the windows menu (windows key) and type "itch" it should come up. From there you can add it as a shortcut on your desktop.

Itch has a built in jam tracker!

The cause of death seems to sometimes be odd values like the ones that show up in the examples but that's only after entering secret areas, other than that they're reporting fine. e.g. "Cheating"

Also a very spoiler-y portion caused some errors. Anywhere I can privately message you to give details? Don't wanna spoil it for anyone else.

It requires the correct amount (25) but it doesn't actualy seem to use any upon using the command.

Currently I believe the flow is based around user collections.

In my experience the easiest thing to do is to set up a collection of any games you want to play through the website. Then within the app you can open that collection and install/play any games you want.

Amulet

Amulet is a free Lua-based audio/visual toolkit suitable for small-scope games and experimentation. It runs on Windows, Mac, Linux, HTML5 and iOS.

Looks like a cool new game engine was just released, excited to try and use it.

I absolutely love the use of the console interface, I'd love to see how else it eventually gets integrated into the main gameplay.

Started using it because Skype is trash and haven't gone back since.

Also it has some great APIs that I've been meaning to use to make a Bot. discord.io discord.js

I heard about this today! It looks super promising, I hope it can be successful :)

Been really enjoying Darkest Dungeon lately! Playing a bit of Duelyst and Rocket League as well.

Oh wow, what makes you want to make your own engine instead of using a proprietary one?

Is there a specific set of features that you generally find lacking or do you just like to do it? I'm not sure I'd be able to code my own engine, although I did a couple personalized graphics libraries/game utilities on top of SFML a while back a whole engine seems like an enormous undertaking for a single project.

There's been way more variety in here than I initially expected! To be honest I totally expected everyone to toss out Unity/Game Maker as their game engine, it's super cool to see the diversity in tools here :)

Thought it might be fun to have a thread where everyone could share their favorite tools for making games.

I'm gonna use this post to list all of the tools everyone's posted and try and organize them!

It'd also be nice to have a Latest/New Posts button to browse instead of just by category.
